LEXUS Sound Upgrade Program
This is a sound improvement plan designed for Lexus vehicles equipped with the Lexus Premium Sound (standard audio) system.
The most commonly requested models at our shop are the RX and NX series, but since many Lexus models share the same speaker sizes and amplifier configurations, this plan is applicable across the lineup.
There are two plan options: “Prime Tone,” which includes speaker replacement and door soundproofing, and “DSP Suite,” which adds a DSP amplifier. You can choose from a selection of speakers and DSP amps specially curated by our shop to match Lexus-specific constraints.
Plan Overview
● Prime Tone
This is a high cost-performance essential plan that combines replacement of the front 2-way speakers and center speaker—which contribute significantly to front-seat sound quality—with door soundproofing to optimize speaker operating conditions. An optional Door Complete upgrade is also available to enhance the acoustic performance of the doors as speaker enclosures.
● DSP Suite
This plan builds on “Prime Tone” by adding a DSP amplifier, enabling advanced acoustic tuning. Optional upgrades are available for high-resolution audio playback from digital audio players such as iPhones via Bluetooth or wired connection.
● Customization Support
Based on the two plans above, we also offer flexible customization options such as embedding tweeters into the A-pillars, upgrading to outer baffles for woofers, or converting to a front 3-way system to further enhance playback quality.
LEXUS SoundUp Program “Prime Tone”
The LEXUS SoundUp Program “Prime Tone” is a high cost-performance essential plan that combines replacement of the front 2-way speakers and center speaker—which have a major impact on front-seat sound quality—with door soundproofing to optimize speaker performance.
In “Prime Tone,” five speaker units are replaced: the front 2-way speakers (high-range on the dashboard and low-range in the doors) and the center speaker (center of the dashboard). Soundproofing (deadening) is applied to bring out the full potential of the low-range door speakers.
As an option for the “Prime Tone” plan, we offer a “Door Complete” upgrade to further enhance speaker performance. Stabilizer weights are attached to the speaker baffles to strongly suppress unwanted vibration, supporting more precise diaphragm movement. In addition, sound-insulating sponge prevents sound leakage inside the door trim, achieving a higher level of clarity.

Prime Tone Key Installation Steps
● Deadening (Outer Panel)
Deadening (door vibration damping) is essential for optimizing speaker performance. It starts with applying vibration-damping material to the outer panel of the door, which consists of two metal layers.● Deadening (Inner Panel)
For the inner panel, deadening is applied across the entire surface to seal all service holes and enhance vibration control overall.
● Speaker Replacement & Baffle Fabrication
When installing aftermarket speakers, we custom-fabricate baffle boards as the mounting base. The inner diameter of the baffle is tapered to allow smooth air movement behind the speaker, and waterproofing is thoroughly applied.● Baffle Stabilizer Weight (Optional)
When the speaker diaphragm moves back and forth, reactive forces cause the speaker unit to shake in the opposite direction, which interferes with the diaphragm's movement. By adding weight to the baffle, these reactive forces are absorbed, enabling linear diaphragm motion.

● High-Range Speaker Replacement
High-range speakers typically use 10cm coaxial units. These can usually be installed without modification, but if necessary, we make thin custom baffles to ensure a proper fit.● Center Speaker Replacement
An 8cm full-range speaker is ideal for the center speaker position.
Since the factory screw holes are somewhat off-position, a custom baffle board is made to ensure proper mounting.
LEXUS SoundUp Program “DSP Suite”
The LEXUS SoundUp Program “DSP Suite” builds upon the “Prime Tone” speaker upgrade by adding a DSP amplifier, enabling advanced acoustic tuning. Optional upgrades also allow for high-resolution audio playback from digital audio players like iPhones via Bluetooth or wired connections.
In the “DSP Suite,” we replace five speaker units—front 2-way (high-range on the dash + low-range in the door) and center speaker (center of dash)—and apply deadening, just like in the “Prime Tone” plan. In addition, a DSP amplifier is installed for precision sound tuning. There are no specific restrictions on product selection, and we offer five speaker brands and four DSP brands to choose from.
Optional upgrades for the “DSP Suite” include the following three:- A DSP controller for switching sound profiles, adjusting volume, etc.
- A digital interface (Bluetooth or wired) for direct input of high-res sources like iPhones.
- The Door Complete option, which reduces forward/backward speaker basket movement to achieve cleaner playback.

Speaker Selection
For 2-way setups, most aftermarket 17cm-class speakers are compatible. However, the center speaker requires a full-range unit under 8cm, so we’ve selected speaker sets from each brand that meet this requirement. Below are six selectable speaker sets, including BLAM. You're welcome to change the set to suit your preferences—please feel free to ask.

Main Installation Steps for DSP Suite
● Deadening (Outer Panel)
Deadening (door vibration damping) is essential to maximize speaker performance. Vibration-damping materials are applied to the outer panel—the external sheet of metal among the two that make up the door structure. (Same process as PrimeTone)● Deadening (Inner Panel)
The inner panel is fully covered with damping material to seal all service holes and enhance overall vibration control.
The speaker is mounted using an oval-shaped baffle board. (Same process as PrimeTone)
● High-Range & Center Speaker Replacement
When using a DSP, you are not limited to 10cm high-range speakers—you can also install dedicated tweeters for high-frequency playback. In addition to direct replacements in factory positions as shown, custom mounting in the A-pillars is also possible.● Tweeter Embedding (Customization Option)
With a DSP, smaller tweeters can be used instead of factory high-range speakers, allowing for A-pillar embedding. By exposing tweeters—crucial for imaging—you’ll enjoy clearer and more lifelike vocals and guitar tones. Replacing A-pillar covers for factory restoration costs around ¥6,000 per side, making this a relatively accessible upgrade. (Approx. additional cost: ¥60,000+)
● Outer Baffle Conversion (Customization Option)
After exposing tweeters, the next recommended upgrade is converting the door woofer to an outer baffle setup. Bringing the woofer’s diaphragm out from behind the door trim eliminates muffling and sluggishness, allowing for not just clearer bass, but also enhanced mid-to-high-frequency detail. (Approx. additional cost: ¥60,000+)● DSP Installation 1 (Trunk Mounting)
The DSP can be mounted either under the passenger seat or beneath the rear tray in the trunk. For larger units like the HELIX M-SIX DSP or P-SIX DSP ULTIMATE, trunk mounting is used. The digital transporter for hi-res audio (optional) is also installed nearby.

Compact DSP models like the PLUG&PLAY 1080 and audison AF C8.14bit can be mounted under the seat. The hi-res digital transporter (optional) is also installed nearby in this case.● DSP Controller Installation (Optional)
An optional DSP controller can be installed to switch between multiple sound tuning profiles and adjust subwoofer volume. Note: When using the hi-res playback option to play music from devices like iPhones, this controller becomes necessary for source switching and volume control.
