Porsche 911 Sound Up Program
This is a sound upgrade program designed exclusively for the Porsche 911.
It covers a wide range of models from the air-cooled 930–993 to the latest 992 series.
While we can perform highly customized car audio installations as long as time and budget allow, we have carefully selected realistic upgrade options based on each model’s specific characteristics—such as factory head unit layout and speaker positioning—to make the decision-making process easier for you.

For Porsche vehicles from model years that use OEM head units compatible with the DIN standard, Porsche Centers offer the official PCCM and PCCM Plus retrofit service, which replaces the factory stereo with a new unit featuring a modern touchscreen display.
We also offer the option to upgrade your head unit via PCCM and leave the full speaker system refresh to us. Feel free to contact us for details!

Main Installation Steps

[1DIN Head Unit Installation] The factory 1DIN unit is replaced with an aftermarket 1DIN deck. Since air-cooled models come with a 1DIN opening, replacement is straightforward. For example, decks from Carrozzeria include basic DSP functions, allowing for full-fledged sound tuning. -
[Speaker Replacement & Sound Deadening] Speakers are securely installed using custom baffles to achieve full-range sound reproduction. The doors are treated with deadening materials to transform them into proper speaker enclosures.

[DSP Installation] The space under the front passenger seat can be used for installing the DSP unit. It enables centralized control of the front 2-way system, rear speakers, and even a subwoofer, allowing precise tuning focused directly on the driver’s listening position. The example estimate includes a PLUG&PLAY unit, while the photo shows an Audison AP8.9bit.

Main Installation Steps

[2DIN Navigation Unit Installation] Since the 996 and later models have a factory 2DIN slot, installing an aftermarket 2DIN unit is straightforward.
If you want to use all factory speakers, you can keep the factory separate amplifier. However, for better sound quality, we recommend bi-amping the front 2-way speakers using the built-in 4-channel amplifier—cost-effective and high performance. -
[Speaker Replacement & Sound Deadening] To reproduce a full frequency range, the speakers are securely installed using custom baffles, and the doors are treated with sound deadening material to turn them into proper speaker enclosures.

[Tweeter Installation] Like the door woofers, the separate tweeters are installed in the original factory positions. Starting with the 996, the speaker system became a 3-way setup, so we also replace the 8cm midrange unit. -
[Rear Speaker Replacement] Rear speakers can also be replaced.
Their structure is the same as the front tweeter and midrange units. Cotton sound-absorbing material is added to the speaker holes to control internal reflections within the enclosure.

[2DIN Navigation Unit Installation] Since the 997 comes with a factory 2DIN slot, installing an aftermarket 2DIN navigation unit is straightforward. (The photo shows an 8-inch model.)
If you wish to utilize all factory speakers, it’s possible to retain the factory separate amplifier. However, for better sound quality and cost-efficiency, we recommend bi-amping the front 2-way speakers using a built-in 4-channel amp. -

[Tweeter Installation] As with the door woofers, separate tweeters are installed in the original factory positions. In the 997, the tweeter area is quite tight, so if the tweeter is larger than 25mm in diameter, it may need to be installed on the dashboard or A-pillar. -
[Powered Subwoofer Installation] As space is limited in this vehicle, installation is made possible by removing the rear seat cushion, which is held down with Velcro. As long as the subwoofer is designed to fit under a seat, most models can be installed in this space.

Main Installation Steps

[2DIN Navigation Unit Installation] As with the 997, the early 991 comes with a factory 2DIN slot, so installing an aftermarket unit is straightforward. (Photo shows a 7-inch model.)
If you want to power all the speakers like the factory setup, one option is to retain the original separate amplifier. However, for better sound quality, we recommend adding a DSP, or for a more cost-effective solution, using a built-in 4-channel amp to bi-amp the front 2-way speakers. -
[Speaker Replacement & Sound Deadening] To reproduce a full frequency range, the speakers are securely installed using custom baffles, and the doors are treated with sound deadening material to function as proper speaker enclosures.

[Tweeter Installation] The factory dashboard tweeter grilles are used to install aftermarket separate tweeters. The space is generous, allowing most commercial tweeter models to fit without issue.
